Tyler “Ninja” Blevins — a professional video gamer with more than 70 million followers worldwide — is bringing his knowledge to MasterClass. Starting March 30, the Detroit native will teach members how to become successful streamers through the online platform’s Sessions by MasterClass program.
“…Ninja is one of, if not the most successful streamer of all time,” saysDavid Rogier, founder and CEO of MasterClass, in a press release. “His ability to embrace and leverage his personality to connect with audiences has defined the streaming industry. In his class, he teaches members actionable steps to find their own style to build and elevate their streams.”
Over the course of 30 days, Ninja will use step-by-step demonstrations and follow-along assignments to teach participants about the necessary software and hardware needed to create a streaming environment, how to find their streaming persona and engage with their community, how to use social media to grow their reach, tips for using music and engaging with their followers, and more.
Ninja moved to Chicago, Illinois, as a child with his family and still lives there today. He became a “pop culture phenomenon” in March 2018 when he streamed on Twitch while playing the online video game Fortnite with rappers Drake and Travis Scott and NFL wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. Since then, he’s amassed more than 17 million followers on the streaming platform. He’s also made a cameo in the 2021 film Free Guy and voice acted in 2022’s Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, authored two graphic novels, and become the sponsor of the Ninja Esports Lounge at the Auburn Hills-based Matilda R. Wilson Boys & Girls Club.
