Earlier this week, the Detroit Sports Commission β€” a division of tourism nonprofit Visit Detroitβ€” announced that Detroit has been selected as the host city for the 2024 NFL Draft and a celebration will take place next month in Campus Martius Park to commemorate the historic news. Now, the commission is releasing details about the event.

Hosted in partnership with the Detroit Lions, the 2024 NFL Draft Community Celebration takes place on April 14 and will kick off at 4:30 p.m. with music by official Lions gameday DJ Ray Ya Dig, food trucks, and activities like Lions activations, autograph photo ops, giveaways, and more.

Following the festivities will be a program β€” emceed by NFL on CBS analyst Charles Davis β€” with remarks from key dignitaries and an unveiling of an interactive, permanent display that celebrates the draft coming to Detroit. Fans can expect to see appearances by Lions legends, drumline members, cheerleaders, and mascot, Roary.

β€œThe 2024 NFL Draft Community Celebration will be an exciting snapshot of the energy, passion, and excitement metro Detroit residents and sports fans will bring to the table when the national spotlight is on Detroit in two years,” says Visit Detroit CEO Claude Molinari in a press release. β€œOur mission at Visit Detroit is to attract large-scale events and activities that draw in residents from across the region. We’re confident the community celebration event on April 14 and the 2024 NFL Draft will do just that.”

The 2024 NFL Draft Community Celebration is an all-ages event. There is no cost to attend.
