Ahee Jewelers, a family-owned, metro Detroit jewelry shop that’s been in business for 75 years, is hosting its 41st Annual Capuchin Souper Summer Celebration on June 4 at Comerica Park. The theme for this year’s fundraiser — which will feature live entertainment, raffle items, and more — is Together Again.

Edmund T. Ahee Sr., founder of Ahee Jewelers, founded the event in 1981 with his wife, Bettejean, and their children. Since then, through the Summer Celebration and Edmund T. Ahee Endowment Fund for Hunger, the business reports to have raised millions for local nonprofit Capuchin Soup Kitchen and its mission to provide food, clothing, job training, and other resources to Detroiters in need.

“We are thrilled to bring the Capuchin Souper Summer Celebration back home to Comerica Park,” says Stefan Ahee, vice president of Ahee Jewelers, in a press release. “For over 40 years, this event has been an evening our family looks forward to every summer. It is exciting to be Together Again,’ to support a tremendous organization in our community.”

Guests will enjoy live music from Your Generation in Concert and DJ Prevu, food and libations, and a fireworks display. The raffle, featuring more than $30,000 in donated fine jewelry from Ahee Jewelers, is the star of the event. A $4,800 pair of diamond earrings from the David Yurman Continuance Collection, a $3,800 Cartier stainless steel leather strap watch, and a $1,790 Ahee diamond bracelet in 18-karat yellow gold are just a few of the items that are part of the raffle.

Raffle tickets are $5 each and are available via phone or in-person at Ahee Jewelers (313-886-4600, 20139 Mack Ave. in Grosse Pointe Woods) or Capuchin Soup Kitchen (313-579-2100, 1820 Mt. Elliot St. in Detroit). All the proceeds will benefit Capuchin.

Dressy summer attire is suggested for the event, and attendees must be 21 years of age and older. Admission is free.
