The 44th Annual Salute to Distinguished Warriors Dinner was held by the Urban League of Detroit & Southeastern Michigan on March 23, 2023, at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center. It featured a VIP reception, dinner and program that honored this year’s Distinguished Warriors: retired U.S. Congresswoman, the Honorable Brenda Lawrence; Vice Chair Board of Governors Wayne State University Governor and Retired President & CEO New Detroit, Shirley Stancato; President & CEO of American Federation of Teachers – Michigan, David Hecker; Retired UAW President, Rory Gamble; and the former Senior Vice President of National Community Affairs for Comerica Bank, Monica L. Martinez, who was honored posthumously.
