Alternatives for Girls held the International Women’s Day Role Model Celebration in honor of the accomplishments of the women in the community. The event was held at The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation on March 8, 2023, and featured an auction to support the nonprofit’s mission to empower at-risk girls and young women who have experienced trauma from homelessness, violence and exploitation. The honorees this year were Terry Barclay, the CEO of Inforum, Lisa Franklin, the founder and CEO of Warriors on Wheels of Metropolitan Detroit, and Brandy Mason, the founder of Your Heart Matters Counseling and Consulting.
