Afro Nation, an international music festival that made its Detroit debut last year, has announced its lineup of performers this summer.
Afrobeats icon Rema will take the stage as this yearβs Afro Nation Detroit headline performer this summer at Bedrockβs Douglass Site, along with Canadian R&B hitmaker PartyNextDoor. Detroit rapper Kash Doll is also on the lineup, which includes more than 20 Afrobeats, Amapiano, R&B, and hip-hop artists who will perform across two stages. Adekunle Gold, Ayra Starr, Amaarae, Ruger, Musa Keys, among others are set to perform at this yearβs festival.
Tickets for the two-day event, taking place Aug. 17-18, will go on sale April 3 at 9 a.m. General weekend admission tickets start at $199 and VIP weekend admission tickets start at $299.
Last year, the music festival drew tens of thousands of attendees to Bedrockβs Douglass Site, which once housed the Brewster-Douglass Housing Projects, the former home of legends like Diana Ross and Smokey Robinson.

Since launching in 2019, Afro Nation has become the worldβs largest Afrobeats festival with a variety of entertainment each year and a fast-growing global cultural influence. The festival has made waves with events in Portugal, Puerto Rico, Ghana, and most recently, Detroit. Last year, the festival organizers made headlines for donating $100,000 to Detroitβs Motown Museum.
