National womenβs retailer Fabβrik will open its very first Michigan location later this month. The 14,000-square-foot Birmingham boutique will sell trendy clothing, shoes, and a wide range of accessories with a fun and relaxed feel. The Atlanta-based clothier aims to sell products that are beautiful and accessible, which is precisely why everything but designer denim is priced under $100.
Philanthropy is an integral part of Fabβrikβs mission, says co-owner Melissa Mistrot. βOur mantra is βhigh style with heart,β because we believe clothing has the power to change lives,β she says. Thatβs why every Fabβrik store across the U.S. is part of Free Fabβrik β the companyβs nonprofit, which provides shopping sprees to women rescued from sex trafficking. βOur goal is to make every woman feel beautiful,β she says.
Each location also donates a portion of proceeds to sponsor an orphaned child in Kenya, to whom they send notes, various school supplies, and other needed items. Mistrotβs sister and co-owner, Carrie Sofikitis, is a Birmingham resident of 15 years and says Fabβrik will fit right into the cityβs thriving shopping scene. βIβm so excited to bring this store with so much heart to my city,β she says.
