Lent is a 40-day period of prayer and fasting celebrated by most Christians, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Thursday each year. This year, Lent begins on Feb. 14 and ends on Mar. 28.

During this time, many Catholics will refrain from eating meat, except for fish and seafood, on Fridays. Naturally, several fish fries are taking place throughout Lent in metro Detroit. Here are the details on some of those events.
