Weiss Distilling Co. is now officially open in Clawson. The new distillery and speakeasy β located in a 5,300-square-space designed with low and neon lighting, wood tones and brass, and copper and gold accents β offers more than 25 cocktails on its menu.
The cocktail menu is broken up into vodka, gin, rum, and moonshine sections. It includes options such as the Bellweather, which features the distilleryβs Straitjacket Gin, grapefruit cardamom syrup, orange liqueur, and citric acid, as well as the Ambition, comprised of Weiss Royal Rum, a coffee liqueur made with espresso from Clawson-based Sabbath Coffee Roasters, Demerara, chocolate bitters, and egg.
The distillery also offers a small selection of mocktails, and it sells bottles of its spirits and merch like flasks, T-shirts, hoodies, and coasters.
Located at 34 E. 14 Mile Road in Clawson, Weiss is open from 5 p.m. to midnight, Thursday through Sunday. Bar seats are available on a first come first served basis, while booth reservations can be made online. The Weiss team plans to debut expanded hours, a food program, and an event and theater space later this year.
