Saksey’s Cocktail Lounge, an intimate cocktail bar, is slated to open to the public in the spring. The lounge offers many unique features, including tableside mixology service, live entertainment, a rich food menu, and more.

Saksey’s β€” designed by Detroit-based interior design studio β€” is built around unforgettable experiences. The architecture and layout of the lounge allows guests to travel back in time through a bespoke alleyway entrance. The classy dining area and bar have only eight tables and 55 seats to create a personal, exclusive, and cozy environment.

The lounge is the vision of Josh Lang’s , a dining and nightlife hospitality and marketing company. Saksey’s is part of 7OH2’s debut project, which includes Gilly’s Clubhouse & Rooftop, which is located in the same building at .

β€œSaksey’s is designed to provide an experience that connects people,” Lang said in a press release. β€œI want guests to come in, try a little of everything on the menu, sit back and spend time with the people they love. Intimacy is a product of those you share it with. This room is built for intimate moments.”

With an emphasis on connection in the city, Saksey’s is named after the Detroit bar owned and operated by Dan Gilbert’s father in the 1970s. The lounge is located in the lower level of Gilly’s Clubhouse & Rooftop, a vision of Nick Gilbert, who passed away from neurofibromatosis in 2023.

Intimacy isn’t the only appeal at Saksey’s. The cocktail menu is created by award-winning mixologist Eric Hobbie and includes β€œHigh Class Gal,” which combines gin, cantaloupe juice, orgeat, lemon, watermelon ice diamonds, and champagne. β€œSmoke & Mirrors” is a more playful option with tequila, lemon, Saint Germain, egg white powder, and a charcoal lipstick kiss to top it all off.

Saksey’s food menu is curated by 7OH2 Executive Chef Adrian Estrada, who has created a variety of menus for intimate spaces across the East Coast and Midwest. Estrada’s menu celebrates Detroit’s heritage with light bites and shareable plates.

Live performances round out the experience. Guests give ear to up-close and creative entertainment at Saksey’s. In addition to public hours, the lounge will be available for private rentals throughout the week.
