“PURE” MICHIGAN STATE IS HOME TO THE SECOND LARGEST CANNABIS MARKET IN THE COUNTRY

Welcome to Pure Michigan, the home of the automobile, Motown, Mackinac Island, and 3,288 miles of freshwater coastline. And speaking of “pure,” Michigan also is home to the second largest cannabis market in the country.

Last year, Michigan’s cannabis industry sold $3 billion in both recreational and medical marijuana, the second biggest cannabis market in the U.S. behind only California. And sales show no signs of slowing down in 2024.

Michigan enters its fifth year of legal recreational marijuana sales and there have been some growing pains and certainly challenges ahead for everyone in the industry. And while some communities have rejected recreational sales in their communities, Detroit, Southfield and Berkley all began sales of recreational marijuana in 2023.

New products and better offerings are coming soon and more communities will embrace the budding industry going forward. So there are plenty of reasons to be “high” on Michigan’s cannabis industry – including the companies featured here in our CannaBusiness Section.
