Northville Art House is celebrating “the vibrancy of the Michigan mosaic community” with a new online and in-person exhibit called Mosaic Evolution. The exhibition debuts at the local art school and gallery on Jan. 14.

Mosaic Evolution, which will be up through Feb. 12, features work by 13 members of the Mosaic Artists of Michigan. The volunteer organization, which was founded nearly 20 years ago, aims to share its love and knowledge of traditional and contemporary mosaics. Its members range from beginner to professional artists.

Shonda Adams, Kate Hanley, Sue Majewski, Ski Szyniszewski, and Michelle Sider are among the artists who will display their work. Their art will be available for purchase in-person, by phone, and through an online artisan store on the Northville Art House website.

The exhibit will kick off with an opening reception from 5-8 p.m. on Jan. 14. Taking place at Northville Art House, located at 215 W. Cady Street, the event will include a cash bar and light refreshments. Masks are recommended, and the art center also asks guests who are not fully vaccinated to social distance and to stay home if they are feeling sick.

Outside of the event, Northville Art House is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday, and 11 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. There is no cost for admission.
