The 30th annual Motor City Comic Con is scheduled for May 17-19. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, kicking off a star-studded weekend at The Suburban Collection Showroom in Novi. As one of Michigan’s largest pop-culture events since 1989, the convention has welcomed more than 300 comic book creators, writers, and artists as well as notable actors to its event each year.

Special guests for this year’s convention include Brian Baumgartner and Leslie Baker, who played Kevin and Stanley, respectively, in the nine seasons of the workplace comedy The Office. Michigan native and former Saved by the BellΜύstar Elizabeth Berkley will be on site for photographs and autographs. Pom Klementieff, known for her role as Mantis in the Marvel AvengersΜύfilms, will be representing the cast of the box office hit Avengers: Endgame. Comic book purists will be able to meet artists and authors like Tony Harris (Iron Man) and Phillip Tan (Batman and Robin). Alanna Masterson (The Walking Dead), Shawn Michaels (WWE), David Tennant (Dr. Who), and George Takei (Star Trek) will also be in attendance.

In addition to meet and greets and photo ops, this year’s convention will host dozens of events for attendees. A standout activity is a yoga session with Sons of Anarchy actors. β€œWe really wanted to blow this year out of the park with bigger celebrities and new content,” says Miriam Kruger, the executive director of Motor City Comic Con. β€œWe are so excited to bring our fans our first ever yoga event β€˜Yogis of Anarchy’ with Sons of AnarchyΜύstars Charlie Hunnam and Ryan Hurst.”
